Oddly enough, many of the jobs we get involve working for people who aren't going anywhere! In our last blog, we talked about helping people move furniture and decorations during the holidays. But, we're called for other jobs, too. Perhaps one of these circumstances applies to you, and you've been wondering if it's reasonable to hire movers to help. The answer is yes. Here are some of the times when the services of movers come in handy:
Renovations or remodeling
Paying for renovations or remodeling almost always includes the cost of moving the furniture in the price. But, it doesn't necessarily mean the people who are doing the moving will have the expertise to move your furniture or the capacity to move it where you want it. You may want to store the furniture offsite. If you're doing your own remodeling, hiring movers to protect and move your furniture to a safe place is an even better option.
For Home Staging
You don’t have to live with that old sofa taking up space in your side yard or alley until bulk pickup day!
Maybe you aren't moving yet, but you'd like to sell your house so you can. In that case, hiring a couple of guys to help you with the substantial lifting part of the staging will allow you the freedom to stand back and view the results. It's handy when you're not so exhausted from moving that sofa for the fifteenth time--because you can't see how it looks while you're responsible for moving one end of it.
Stairs
Maybe you're moving your bedroom from the upstairs of your home to the downstairs. You might even be moving from the first floor of an apartment complex to a second. Whatever the case, if you need the movers but not a 14' truck, call us! We aren't attached to the truck per se.
Donating or dumping furniture
Maybe you need to get rid of that smelly old sofa and don't think it's even good enough for a thrift store, so you want it hauled to the dump. Or you're giving a big piece of furniture to a friend.
